My favorite taco seasoning
Mexican food is my jam! I make tacos once a week (not kidding) and my husband often requests my enchiladas for his birthday. There is something so special about the unique blend of fresh and spicy in most Mexican cuisine that is simply unparalleled. This taco seasoning is a staple in my house; it is easy to throw together in a pinch, and also easy to make in bulk for convenience.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 TBSP coconut sugar (brown sugar works well too)
1/2 TBSP salt
1/2 TBSP ground cumin
1/2 TBSP chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika (smoked paprika works well too)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Mix all ingredients until well combined (you can do this with a whisk in a bowl OR by shaking in a mason jar for easy, immediate storage). I find that one recipe seasons a pound of taco filling (examples: lentils, quinoa, veggies) well. Play around with your ratios to find a balance that works well for you!
